For over two decades Tennessee songwriter Jennifer Jane Niceley has been releasing deeply sensitive and strikingly original material. Previous albums include the lush sounds of Luminous (under Jennifer Niceley ) in 2008 produced by Joe McMahan (Kevin Gordon, Luella and the Sun), and the bare and eclectic Angels, Demons, Red-Tail Hawks with Eric McConnell (Loretta Lynn, Todd Snider, Sierra Ferrell) in 2017, released while living in the mountains near Denver, CO.
Jennifer describes her music now as “mystical country”, citing the Appalachian roots that continue to inform her signature guitar style, mixed with the poetic mystery and depth of her unique songwriting. Add the cosmic-minded production of Feathered Mason (Eric Davis) and the other-worldly ambience from multi-instrumentalist Jason Goforth and the expansive sound becomes even more enigmatic, as evidenced on her 2024 album release Not Lost. Since then she’s been performing live regularly in Nashville with her band, as JJ Niceley. Look for the new single, “Goin Out There” October 24th and a new album in early 2026.
